Jennifer Kane
Case Manager
Meet one of our Case Managers, Jennifer Kane! At the age of 21 Jennifer was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after getting caught up in a crime she didn’t commit. While incarcerated, she was accepted into the Offender Mentor Certification Program starting in 2016. During the course of that program she became certified as a drug and alcohol counselor and in 2021 her sentence was overturned and all charges against her were dropped. In the fall of that same year, Jennifer started as a case manager for Freedom Through Education.
Jennifer has been an inspiration to our participants especially as she continues to further her education and put her drug and alcohol counselor certification to use as a group facilitator. Jennifer is currently attending Walden University in her off time to complete a Bachelor’s Degree program in Social Work so she can continue to help individual affected by the justice system.
