Meet our Maintenance Director, Kalei Nahinu! Kalei originally came to Freedom Through Education as a program participant, but quickly showed staff his dedication and later became a staff member. While participating in the program, Kalei was given the opportunity to volunteer his time with Freedom Through Service to receive job skills training and better our community. During his time with Freedom Through Service, Freedom Through Education had acquired several new properties for participant housing that were in need of extensive work, Kalei put in hours of his time with these properties and proved that his skills were needed as a permanent position at FTE.

Over the years, Kalei has gained extensive experience in construction working for contractors doing roofing, flooring, plumbing, home repairs, etc. making him the perfect addition to the FTE Maintenance Division. Kalei takes great pride in interacting with the participants by sharing his experiences with Freedom Through Education and what it can do for them.
